Hemispheric Congress - Congreso Hemisferico
CAMACOL has been a pioneer in the international business sector. For over 33 years CAMACOL has been active in this area through its Hemispheric Congress of Latin Chambers of Commerce and Industry, a program which is unique in that it has an established infrastructure comprised of the presidents of the national chambers of commerce throughout the Latin America and Caribbean region, as well as Spain.
No other organization in the United States has this established infrastructure. The Congress has a hands-on approach to trade and advocacy and works in tandem with the Florida Trade program.
Our efforts are concentrated in fostering trade with Latin American since not only has the region benefited from an economic boom, but accounts for 64% of our exports.
Speakers at the Congress have included 2 former U.S. Presidents, former Florida Governors, senior cabinet members, the Prime Minister of Spain, and heads of government from Latin America.
As such, the Hemispheric Congress has enabled the development of linkages which have translated into the creation of jobs and revenue for our community and State.
